TikTok is bringing the excitement of #BookTok to Galle Literary Festival with a workshop designed for Sri Lankan creators, book lovers, and literary enthusiasts. Taking place on February 9 (Sunday) from 1 PM to 2 PM at Hall de Galle, the session will explore how users can leverage TikTok to share their passion for books and storytelling through #BookTok.
BookTok refers to a vibrant community of book lovers on TikTok who share their thoughts on books through short, engaging videos using the hashtag #BookTok. BookTokers review books, recommend reads based on themes and characters, read aloud in live videos, and create lists of upcoming releases. This movement has had a significant impact on publishers as well, driving book sales?particularly in young adult fiction, fantasy, and romance?while inspiring more young people to read. It has also provided authors with a powerful platform to reach and engage with a wider audience, making literature more interactive and accessible than ever before.
Localizing the magic of #BookTok, this workshop conducted by the TikTok team will cover TikTok ABCs, #BookTok 101, content strategy, creative collaborations, and best practices for high-quality literary content. Attendees will gain valuable insights into how TikTok can be used to engage with the literary community and reach wider audiences.
Whether you?re an aspiring book reviewer, a content creator, or simply a literature enthusiast, this is a session not to be missed. TikTok invites everyone to join the workshop at Hall de Galle and be part of the #BookTok conversation at #GLF!
