In celebration of International Women’s Day, City of Dreams Sri Lanka, in collaboration with the Sri Lanka Institute of Tourism & Hotel Management (SLITHM), hosted a forum themed “Give to Gain” to inspire the next generation of women leaders in hospitality. The event brought together students, industry leaders, and educators to share insights, experiences, and practical guidance on empowerment, leadership, and career growth.

The forum opened with a welcome address by SLITHM Director General Wasantha Manthripala, emphasizing mentorship and bridging academic learning with industry experience. The keynote was delivered by Githanjali Chakravarthy, General Manager of Hilton Yala Resort and first female President of the Sri Lanka Hospitality Graduates Association, who encouraged young women to lead with confidence, emotional intelligence, and resilience.

Sessions included cybersecurity awareness by Manoj Samarasekara, discussions on women’s rights and workplace inclusivity by Dedunie De Silva, and insights on digital transformation from Chamika Karunaratne. Panelists such as Chef Sudarshani Kirindigala and SLITHM’s Nirmalie Mendis shared personal journeys, highlighting adaptability, mentorship, and collaboration as keys to success.

The forum concluded with a message aligned with “Give to Gain,” encouraging participants to support one another, share knowledge, and create opportunities for future generations. Through initiatives like this, City of Dreams Sri Lanka continues to champion diversity, empower women, and invest in shaping the future of hospitality in Sri Lanka.
