Macktiles has launched Macktiles Australia in Victoria, marking a significant milestone for Sri Lankan manufacturing and a strategic entry into one of the world’s most design-focused, specification-driven building markets.

Backed by Macksons Holdings Group, Macktiles is positioned as Sri Lanka’s largest turnkey tile manufacturer, with integrated operations that have made it a dominant player locally. Following major investments in technology and production, the company’s manufacturing capacity has expanded to 44,000 square metres per day. With a reported 40% share of the domestic market, its facility is the country’s largest tile manufacturing operation.

Macktiles has also strengthened its islandwide presence through an expanding showroom network, opening its 50th showroom in 2025.

The Australian launch builds on an existing global footprint spanning the US, Saudi Arabia, Nigeria, Kenya, the Maldives, and Indonesia, reflecting a structured international growth strategy rather than a one-time export drive.

Managing Director Mizver Makeen said Australia represents a market that values consistency, professionalism, and design integrity, adding that the expansion signals the next phase of long-term global growth. He noted the company’s commitment to establishing a trusted presence through strong local partnerships and reliable delivery.

General Manager – Sales Niroshan Pananwala said the Australian range was developed around local lifestyle and building needs across residential, commercial, and shared spaces. He added that the collection blends global expertise, European technology, and design influences from Spain and Italy to meet Australian standards.

Production is supported by advanced manufacturing systems and integrated Italian technology investments aimed at enhancing capacity and strengthening global competitiveness.
