Futurity, Sri Lanka’s first AI-native research and development studio, has announced the successful completion of its seed funding round, marking a major milestone in its mission to embed seamless intelligence into everyday work and business processes. Established as a joint venture between Invos Global and Cyaniq, Futurity is dedicated to engineering AI solutions that remove friction from routine operations while elevating human capability.
Founded on the belief that intelligence should be invisible, intuitive, and supportive, Futurity’s work revolves around building AI systems that integrate smoothly into workplace environments. These solutions aim to simplify document navigation, streamline knowledge access, enhance customer interactions, and automate time-consuming tasks, ultimately transforming how teams operate without disrupting established workflows.
The seed round was secured following a thorough due diligence process and multiple negotiation phases, with funding coming from a prominent consortium of private investors. The consortium is led by Altaf Jeevunjee, Director of Jaywise Investments, and includes industry leaders such as Mansoor Akbarally, Executive Director of Akbar Brothers, and Chamika Godamanna, Managing Director of Ninehearts Group.
Speaking on the investment, Mansoor Akbarally noted, “Futurity is an exciting, young startup with a capable team, on a mission to humanize AI and make intelligence usable for everyday work, rather than an intimidating and distant possibility. In my view, this is exactly how we should be approaching AI and other emerging technologies, by looking past the hype and buzzwords to see the possibility for achieving real-world outcomes. I’m happy to have had the chance to support the young team and their vision.”
Futurity currently offers two flagship AI products. Omni, the company’s document intelligence and knowledge orchestration platform, enables organizations to extract maximum value from internal knowledge through smart summarization, contextual search and intelligent content generation. Query, Futurity’s web intelligence solution, brings AI-powered conversational navigation to websites, converting static digital interfaces into interactive, guided experiences that inform, assist and convert users more effectively.
To strengthen its governance structure and support its next phase of growth, Futurity has established its inaugural Board of Directors. The board will be chaired by investor Mansoor Akbarally and will include representatives from both founding entities and the investor group: Samith Wijerathna (Cyaniq), Supun Kaluarachchi and Venuka Wijethunga (Invos Global), along with Chamika Godamanna and Altaf Jeevunjee.
“This is a dynamic, young team with a deep commitment to real-world innovation,” said Chamika Godamanna, Managing Director of Ninehearts Group. “The strength of Futurity lies in its contextual intelligence and practical, seamless application of AI into business processes. We’re excited to contribute to its growth story as it scales its offerings locally and beyond.”
Looking ahead, Futurity aims to expand its footprint across Sri Lanka, delivering solutions across a wide range of use cases, from enterprise-grade knowledge management systems and conversational websites to AI-driven e-commerce assistants and next-generation digital reporting tools. Alongside its core products, the company also offers bespoke AI transformation services to help organizations integrate intelligence into daily workflows through custom-built automations.
