Sri Lanka has appointed a new Chief of National Intelligence, the Ministry of Defence said.
The newly appointed Chief of National Intelligence, Major General Nalinda Niyangoda RWP RSP VSV USP ndu psc PhD MSc (DM) MSc (NSWS) PGDM, received his letter of appointment from the Defence Secretary, Air Vice Marshal Sampath Thuyacontha (Retd).
Subsequently, Major General Niyangoda assumed duties in his new appointment at his office at the Ministry of Defence, Sri Jayawardenepura Kotte.
Major General Niyangoda, who belongs to the Armoured Corps, is a highly accomplished senior officer with over 35 years of distinguished service in the Sri Lanka Army.
Throughout his illustrious military career, he has held numerous key and challenging appointments, demonstrating exemplary leadership and dedication to duty.
